After a second quarter full of significant changes, the third quarter of 2024 in CloudFire was characterized by a phase of transition and preparation for the next innovations, especially for the features coming to Cortex.

🆕 Product Release in Cortex

We are always attentive to partner requests and are committed to simplifying access to cloud solutions. For this reason, during the summer, we made important changes to Cortex, focusing mainly on Veeam Cloud Platform.

The user interface has been improved, with updates to Dashboard, Cloud Connect and Licenses, introducing new features and graphics to improve the user experience.

Veeam Cloud Platform - Cloud Connect

Following the interface restyling, we implemented two fundamental updates to the Veeam Cloud Platform backend.

The first concerns the Repository at the base of the service itself. In fact, since August, Veeam Cloud Platform has been using Veeam Hardened Repository like default repository which responds to the growing need to protect backups from increasing threats, such as ransomware attacks. Now in fact, the default repository is immutable and ensures even more secure and reliable backups.

What benefits do you get with the Immutable Repository in Veeam Cloud Platform?

  • Increased security: protects data from unauthorized changes and ransomware, keeping backups immutable for 7 days;
  • Data Compliance and Resiliency: complies with the latest Veeam security standards;
  • Easy accessibility: immutable backups are easily managed through Veeam Cloud Connect;
  • Optimized performance: with the WAN accelerator integrated into the repository, backup and recovery processes are faster;
  • Cost control: with the Pay per Allocation model, costs remain stable.

The second update, on the other hand, in September, relates to the new available version of Veeam Backup & Replication V12.2. A release that introduces new features including native and agentless support for VMs on Proxmox VE and MongoDB, new updates for VMware, new protected workloads available and other features. Discover the details of the What's new in Veeam Backup & Replication V12.2.

🚀 CloudFire services are ACN certified

In July, we obtained the ACN Certifications, which validate the compliance of our cloud services for the Italian Public Administration. Our SaaS, IaaS services and infrastructure are now qualified to be delivered to public administration projects and tenders.

Specifically, in fact, the National Cybersecurity Agency certifies our SaaS services Veeam Cloud Platform, Talky Time, CloudFire 3CX, our IaaS services Openstack as a Service and vSphere as a Service And theinfrastructure same Datacenter Data4 MI1.

Despite the holidays, from July to September it was an active period in terms of events.

In September, in fact, we organized the event Deep Dive Veeam Cloud Platform, an event dedicated entirely to our Partners and the Veeam Cloud Platform product in Florence. During the day together, we technically explored features related to Veeam Backup & Replication, Restore, Veeam for Microsoft 365, Repository Cloud Connect vs Object Storage and Disaster Recovery.

Then the appointments continued with Cloud Native Reggio Emilia, a community that is growing month by month. A group whose objective is to represent a moment in which cloud experts can discuss, share ideas, discuss challenges and successes, and above all innovate together.

In previous Meetups we talked about Networking and Data on Kubernetes. The Next meeting instead, given the interest of the participants, it will focus on an overview of Kubernetes technology as a whole.

We can't wait to tell you about the next steps in 2024!
